The Secretariat services team is tasked with daily support to the Save the Children's International Secretariat and provides legal, finance, IT, HR and office management services as well as online and general communications support. The team is managed by the Secretariat Director & General Counsel and the purpose of the job we're currently recruiting would be to provide a secretarial service of the highest standard to support the Director.
Your main responsibilities would be to assist the Director in diary management, travel planning, processing correspondence as well as providing day to day secretarial and administrative support to the Director and other members of the team as required.
Ideal candidates will be team players with excellent secretarial skills, a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and outlook applications, strong time management skills and the ability to plan ahead and juggle competing priorities successfully. Attention to detail and strong communication skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people, including board members and staff from offices around the world is a necessity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to join the International Secretariat of Save the Children. The role would be well suited to a solicitor or barrister who has gained some post-qualification experience in-house or in a proactive private practice environment.
The role will involve providing legal advice and support to the International Secretariat in London, as well as liaising with staff across Save the Children worldwide. Working alongside the Secretariat Director & General Counsel, you will advise on a diverse range of legal issues, often with a strong international element, including charity, employment, contract, and company and commercial law as well as advising on compliance and corporate governance issues and managing and protecting the Save the Children brands.
You will be committed to the mission and goals of Save the Children, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the confidence and ability to tackle new areas of law. You will be a team player with a positive outlook, skilled at applying legal expertise to solving problems.
The role will involve some international travel.

It also supports the communications departments of smaller members, through, for instance, guidance on the Alliance Content Management System (CMS). Its primary tools are the Alliance Website, an Xtranet for Alliance staff, an e-newsletter and the annual report.
Your main objectives are to support the Alliance strategic plan through internal and external online communications and to help develop a successful and cost-effective global web presence and online strategy for Save the Children.

The Country Director reports to the Regional Director of Save the Children US as the designated Managing Member for the Philippines.
The post holder will be based in Manila, Philippines.
The relative accountabilities and responsibilities of the Managing Member and other Members active in the country, together with the governance structure, are set out in the country Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The cyclone caused significant damage to infrastructure and people's homes, and severe flooding, limiting the supply of fresh drinking water. The cost of basic necessities has rocketed, including prices of food and fuel.
The current UN figures state that between 1.5 - 1.9 million people have been affected by Cyclone Nargis, with 100,000 dead and 220,000 missing. Official government figures state that 30,000 are dead and 33,000 missing.
