UN World Summit and Millenium Development Goals

The Millennium Development Goals are a list of eight targets, intended to reduce global poverty. The goals were agreed by an international consensus of experts in 2000 and all 191 member countries of the United Nations have pledged to meet these goals by the year 2015. As well as the eight goals there are eighteen specific targets and forty-eight indicators in order to track the progress of each goal.
