KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  • Conduct of DEI analysis, DEI assessments of organizational and operations-related policies, programs, guidelines, and practices
  • Development and implementation of DEI framework or plan to cover operations, human resources development and organizational development of Save the children Sudan on DEI. 
  • Development of DEI monitoring system and database for operations work and organizational development.
  • Conduct knowledge and skills assessments of women and other underrepresented groups to identify capacity gaps and developmental opportunities and learning exchange programs for women and other minorities in CO and Provincial Offices.
  • Act as a “DEI Focal Person” for Country Office, Port Sudan and work closely with the Field DEI focal persons.
  • Ensure monthly DEI meetings are happening in each provincial office. 
  • Follow up with provincial DEI focal points to take note of main issues related to DEI and bring the consolidated list of issues to the CO DEI Committee meeting for discussion and decision making. 
  • Take the meeting minutes of DEI committee meetings and all female staff meetings and share the meeting minutes with the staff as appropriate after each meeting. 
  • Ensure that DEI concerns are followed up safely, effectively and efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Coordinate with Head of Safeguarding the concerns and risks for investigation and follow up. 
  • Travel to the field offices on regular basis to follow up on DEI related concerns. 
  • Apply critical analysis to ensure that we live up to our commitment to making Save the Children safe for our employees, particularly women.
  • Act as a “Role model” high levels of professional safeguarding behaviour and maintain the standards required by the HR Policy, Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Identify potential risks related to DEI in workplace, workshops and events, plan mitigating measures and assign staff to be responsible for the implementation.
  • Conduct awareness trainings to build capacity of SCI staff on DEI.
  • Coordinate with Learning & Talent Development Manager to map out talent opportunities for women development in Save the children Sudan.
  • Develop yearly DEI Action Plan to ensure key priorities are identified.
  • Ensure DEI Committee are functional in country office and provincial offices. 

Staff Wellbeing

  • Develop and oversee health and wellbeing programs tailored to organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and professionals for specialized programs and services.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff on health and wellbeing concerns.
  • Provide medical advises and guidance on health-related issues impacting staff wellbeing.
  • Conduct assessments and surveys to identify employee needs and measure program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with the psychotherapist to offer comprehensive support for employees, including  referrals and follow-up care.
  • Conduct health assessments to identify staff needs and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze staff health data and disease trends to tailor programs and interventions effectively.
  • Plan and facilitate health and wellbeing workshops focusing on medical and psychological aspects.
  • Create educational materials on health topics, including preventive care and wellness strategies.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of health resources available to employees   
  • Coordinate with external health professionals and vendors for additional services and support.
  • Any other Task assigned by the supervisor.

 
QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree in  psychology, Medical or a closely related field and considerable experience in human resources, Staff Wellbeing and/or diversity, equity and inclusion work
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in human resources, gender, Staff Wellbeing and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion work
  • Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel to field, the role will require up to 30% time spent in the field offices. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gain credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging and complex environment. 
  • Experience of planning and undertaking training programmes/workshops in safeguarding at a range of levels (e.g. field workers, managers, senior managers and decision makers).
  • Demonstrable commitment to SCI Employees and beneficiaries Rights.
  • Self-sufficient, proactive self-motivating work styles.
  • Ability to provide long distance support and establish supportive relationships and networks.
  • Ability to deliver results against demanding timetables and in the face of competing demands.
  • Awareness of own strengths and weaknesses and evidence of commitment to self-managed personal development.
  • Multi-disciplinary experience of working successfully with senior managers to deliver major operational change with a track record of delivering results to high standards.
