ROLE PURPOSE: The post holder will ensure the establishment of youth intervention and ensure that the program needs are identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. She/he will report and respond to interventions as determined by his/her position and responsibilities identified in SCI strategy.
She/he will be responsible of the provision of daily/weekly reports. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for shadowing and mentoring a group of youth facilitators, providing capacity building on life skills curriculums, sports for development and entrepreneurship. In addition to that, she/he will work with group of adolescents to establish initiatives on a community level coordinating closely with existing clubs, networks and stakeholders.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 
Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Programme Implementation:

  • Contribute to the registration and verification of beneficiaries by collecting appropriate data
  • Conduct trainings and sensitization and awareness sessions for beneficiaries and other stakeholders
  • Conduct field visits, sessions observation and focus group discussions to collect information, as needed
  • Act as a liaison between communities and the Save the Children office; maintain good relationships with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities; and report any identified issues to the FSL Officer 
  • Develop workplan for the youth and adolescent interventions and coordinate with youth facilitators in the centres to provide technical and programmatic support 
  • Coordinate with youth officers in partners’ organizations and monitor implementation of activities
  • Coordinate with Save the Children’s other sectors (education, child protection, health/nutrition and shelter) to ensure integrated and efficient programming, including ensuring the cross-referral of beneficiaries
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly planning and submit regular reports to Officer

Programme Monitoring:

  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of activities by collecting appropriate data from selected beneficiaries, using pre-made questionnaires
  • Conduct awareness sessions on Save the Children’s Feedback Mechanism System, and encourage its use 
  • Contribute to data entry, as needed

General:

  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Degree in social sciences, social work, psychology, development studies or similar field
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in working with youth and adolescents in vulnerable and 
  • Previous experience engaging with community members and working in emergency and development projects. 
  • Familiarity with refugee communities in country of operation
  • Experience in field work
  • Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries
  • Experience in training facilitators and performing shadowing activities.
  • Experience in Food Security & Livelihoods in emergencies
  • Computer skills (especially Excel) 
  • Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
