TITLE: MEAL Assistant  

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The MEAL assistant is responsible for facilitating CP MEAL related activities at provincial level under direct supervision of MEAL officer. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Orient the project staff on the use of data collection and monitoring tools.
  • Oreint project staff on the quality benchmark set out for each component of the project 
  • Enter the collected data in the project database and generate compile CP database.
  • Support the project staff in the data collection by provision of regular feedback for improved quality, accuracy and use of the data.
  • Support the project staff in the development of monthly plans and reports.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits in the program sites as per the agreed monitoring plan.
  • Support data collection process for PDMs, baseline and end-line assessments.
  • Participate in joint planning sessions and quarterly program review meetings to review lessons learned/best practices and develop improving strategies.
  • Document lessons learned/best practices of program implementation.
  • Orient the project staff on the MEAL approach.
  • Coordinate, advocate and promote accountability system within the project.
  • Ensure an effective system for complaints handling and response mechanisms are established and functioning at the projects level.
  • Regular visit form project activities.
  • Ensure personal commitment in building constructive working relationship with partners based on SCI partnership principles spelled out in Theory of Change
  • Support Officers on day to day handling of department tasks related to partners 
  • Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring 
  • Mobilizing and Making communities aware on project objectives, outputs and activities and MEAL systems and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
  • Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops

QUALIFICATIONS 

Graduated from a recognized/ relevant university degree 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

• Minimum of two years experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation. 

• Skills in implementing information management and performance measurement frameworks.

• Competent level skills in MS Office in particular Ms Word and Ms Excel.

• Strong representation and communication skills.

• Willingness to travel within project sites.

Desirable

• Pashto,Uzbaki, Dari and English spoken and written skills.

• Experience in research
