Child Protection
We work to ensure that all children in Nigeria are protected from neglect, violence and harm. Our programmes work with children, families, communities and government at different levels to promote children’s rights and protection, as well as gender equality as a human right and a condition for the full realization of children’s rights. Some of the prevention and response strategies include: Case management, alternative care for children without parental care, promoting safer families, family tracing and reunification, Healing and Education through the Arts (HEART), strengthening community-based child protection systems, providing psychosocial support for children affected by conflict, preventing early marriage and child labour, enhancing government capacity, mainstreaming child protection into other sectors, as well as preventing and responding to sexual & gender-based violence.
