Food Security & Livelihoods
We work to address the causes of poverty and mitigate their impact on children, by providing food assistance to meet immediate needs and strengthening the livelihoods and resilience of households. These include household economy analysis, durable solutions, graduation approach programmes, Income Generating Activities, setting up of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), vocational skill training, climate-smart agriculture (CSA), green jobs, natural resource management business training, micro-entrepreneurship development, and inclusive market system development.
We leverage the flexibility and effectiveness of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) to vulnerable households to address needs across all sectors. We also provide anticipatory cash to households and community groups to prevent, reduce and lessen the impact of shock to communities that are prone to climate and man-made disasters. We have also established a comprehensive climate early warning system and anticipatory action framework designed to enhance community resilience and support disaster risk reduction.
