Save the Children in China

Save the Children has been working in China since the 1980s. As the largest child-rights focused INGO working in China, we play a crucial role in helping to protect vulnerable children in both rural and urban areas and to offer them a brighter future.

Our work covers different thematic areas nationwide, including health and nutrition, child protection, child education, youth development and employment, disaster risk reduction and emergency response. We actively promote gender equality, disability inclusion as well as mainstream climate change in our program work.

What we do

Health & Nutrition: Our primary objectives are to mitigate maternal and neonatal mortality rates and support children’s healthy development.

Child Education: We are committed to supporting the education and development of children, including children with disabilities.

Child Protection: We are committed to protecting children from multiple forms of harm at the family, school, social, cyber, and judicial levels.

Youth Development & Employment: We strive to support decent employment for adolescents and youth with disabilities and stop the transmission of intergenerational poverty.

Disaster Risk Reduction & Emergency Response: We provide emergency relief and post-disaster reconstruction support based on the needs of families, schools, communities and other sectors affected by disasters.
