UNSC PASSES GAZA RESOLUTION: "ANYTHING BUT AN IMMEDIATE AND DEFINITIVE CEASEFIRE IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH"

Statement in response to the UN Security Council’s vote to pass a resolution on aid delivery in Gaza

In response to the UN Security Council’s vote to pass a resolution on aid delivery in Gaza, Jason Lee, Save the Children Country Director in the occupied Palestinian territory, said:

"Any proposal short of a definitive ceasefire will at best only serve to slow the continued descent of Gaza’s children into more unimaginable suffering from death, disease and approaching famine. As the Council deliberated for days this week, children continued being killed. Children cannot keep paying the price for broken politics. At this point, anything but an immediate and definitive ceasefire is simply not good enough."

We stand side by side with children in the world's toughest places.
